The DigIn Certificate consists of six required three-credit graduate courses:
- IRLS 671 Introduction to Digital Collections (Fall, Spring)
- IRLS 672 Introduction to Applied Technology (Summer)
- IRLS 673 Managing the Digital Information Environment (Spring)
- IRLS 674 Preservation of Digital Collections (Spring)
- IRLS 675 Advanced Digital Collections (Fall)
- IRLS 676 Capstone (Summer)
Students typically complete the certificate program in four or seven consecutive semesters by electing to take one course each in the fall and spring semesters over two years, or two courses concurrently in the fall and spring over one year.
Instructional sessions are based on 14 weekly modules. In the fall and spring, there is usually a week off for Thanksgiving and Spring break. DigIn courses follow the official UA Academic calendar. Please note that during the summer DigIn courses begin with the Summer Presession and continue through the end of the Summer II session.
All coursework for the DigIn certificate must be completed within three years. In addition, students are required to take at least one class each fall and spring semester, or they must complete the Graduate College Leave of Absence form in order to preserve their active status in the program.
