Assignments

Unless otherwise noted, weekly writing assignments are due Monday by midnight in d2l drop-box. The discussion assignment should typically be completed no later than Sunday night.
Week 1: June 9-15

1. Writing Assignment: Describe an ethical dilemma that has or could arise in the context of a library or other information service (1-2 paragraphs). Due June 11.
2. Discussion
(a) Post greeting to d2l greetings forum.
(b) Respond to discussion questions in d2l and participate in on going on-line discussion.

Week 2: June 16-22 Professional Ethics Ortega y Gasset, Wengert, skim Codes of Ethics
1. Writing Assignment: PRE for Wengert and Gasset.
2. Discussion
(a) Participate in The Morality Play. Discuss your reactions.
(b) Respond to discussion questions in d2l and participate in on-going on-line discussion.

Week 3: June 23-29 Ethical Theory and Library and Information Science
Spinello, Woodward (both articles) 1. Writing Assignment: Analyze ethical dilemma (see assignment in d2l). Write a PRE on the "Framework" Woodward article.
