Systems and Electronic Resources Librarian -- Rank: Instructor

Position Description: Faculty rank; 12 month appointment; Reports to the Director of Library
Services. Asa H. Gordon Library is seeking a team-oriented librarian to manage all library
systems including the library's catalog, electronic research databases and website. As the
library liaison for all hardware and software issues, the successful candidate will collaborate with
the Savannah State's Computer Services Department and University System of Georgia
Technical Support Services. Other responsibilities include providing assistance at the reference
desk; providing curriculum-integrated library instruction to students; participating in material
selection; and serving as liaison to one of the university's colleges. The position may require
some night and weekend hours.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree (ALA accredited) in Library Science or Library
Information Science and undergraduate degree in a subject taught at Savannah State
University. In addition to outstanding communication, interpersonal, organizational and
analytical skills, the successful candidate should have a working knowledge of web
development tools, Web 2.0 technologies, and integrated library systems, Voyager preferred.
Knowledge of general reference material is also essential to the position. Background check
may be required.

Preferred Qualifications: Academic library experience; information literacy teaching
experience, and supervisory experience are desirable skills for this position.
